Leave the school day behind. Arrive, settle in, and take a breath. Kids can connect with friends, read, create, or simply unwind before the afternoon begins.

3:30 – 4:15 · 45 min

Grab a snack from home, then fuel your brain with hands-on literacy and numeracy games. Kids also spend time reading from our living library, with a fresh rotation of books every week.

Afternoons include a variety of outdoor adventures, STEAM challenges, baking, creative projects, building, and games. A chance to make. move. meet.

Take a moment to share what you made, discovered, or enjoyed. Connect with friends, wrap up the afternoon, and head home ready for tomorrow. Pick-up is between 5:45 and 6:00 PM.

Choose the option that works best for your family. Each child is registered for one schedule.

One term runs September to December, January to March, and April to June. Your child keeps their track for the term, which is what keeps their group consistent. Registration is monthly, and track changes start at the beginning of the next term.

Best for most kids

Mon / Wed / Fri

Builds momentum. Projects run across a week, so a build can start on Monday, get fixed on Wednesday and finish on Friday. Friendships settle faster, because the same faces are there often enough to become a group. If your child is new to us, new to the neighbourhood, or slow to warm up, three days is the kinder choice.

Best for busy kids

Tue / Thu

Works when the week is already full. If there’s swimming on Mondays and a grandparent on Fridays, Tuesday and Thursday give your child a real place to land twice a week without stacking one more thing onto the calendar.

If we can be outside, we are. Three of the five blocks happen outdoors whenever weather allows. We all need more fresh air, movement, and time outside, and we know it.

The Maker’s Portfolio

By the end of term,
there’s a stack of it.

Most after school programs end at the door and nothing else. A child gets picked up,
the afternoon evaporates, and by dinner nobody can remember what happened.

We keep a portfolio for every child. A physical folder that comes home at the end of each term, and a digital one you can look through any time. Photographs of what they built, sketches from projects that didn’t work, notes on what they tried and what they’d do differently.

It matters more than it sounds. A seven year old can’t hold the shape of four months in their head. But they can turn the pages of their own work and see it. The wobbly first attempt in October, the thing they were proud of in February. That is where confidence comes from. Not from being told they’re creative. From evidence.

Getting here

Doors open at 3:00.

School ends at 2:45 or 3:00 depending on where your child attends. We open at 3:00, giving families time to get from school to Hexagon without the afternoon rush. Once they arrive, the first 15 minutes are intentionally unstructured. Kids unpack, settle in, grab a drink, talk with friends, and ease out of school mode before the afternoon begins.

Hexagon is a drop-off and pick-up program. Families drop their child off at 36 Broadlands Blvd and take them home at the end of the day. There is parking on site, so drop-off and pick-up are easy.

If your child hasn’t arrived by 3:30 and we haven’t heard from you, we phone. Every time.

Tell us at registration who else is authorized to pick your child up,
and let us know ahead of time if someone different is coming on a given day.

By 3:00, your child has already spent a full day learning.

This isn’t more school.
It’s a different kind of learning.

A word game becomes vocabulary.
A card game becomes mental math.
A recipe becomes science you can eat.

Building, making, moving, and playing become opportunities to create and connect.

Because kids don’t stop learning when school ends.
They just don’t always need it to look like school.

And for you

Three hours that belong to you.

The stretch between the last bell and dinner can be a lot to juggle. Pickups. Errands. Work. Dinner. Everything that somehow needs to happen before the day is over.

Hexagon gives that time some breathing room.

Your child has somewhere to go, something to do, and people to do it with. You get a few hours to finish the thing you started, get to the gym, make dinner, run an errand, or simply have a little time to yourself.

And when you meet again, they’ll have something to tell you about.

PA Days and camp weeks work the same way. School closes. Your child still has a place to go, and your week doesn’t have to revolve around the school calendar.

Is this the right fit?

Enrichment, not child care.

Hexagon is not licensed child care. We are an enrichment program — supervised the whole time, in groups of no more than ten, built around projects and time outside rather than filling the hours.

A good fit for a child who…

  • would rather make something than be handed a screen
  • has energy left at 3:00 and wants to move it
  • is new, shy, or still looking for their people
  • is active, curious, kind, and ready to try something new
  • does better in a small group than a big room
  • wants to try Hexagon for a month and see what they think

Probably not us if…

  • you want supervision only between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM
  • you need us to pick up your child from school at dismissal
  • you need a schedule that changes from week to week

Every child does things differently. If your child needs extra support, let us know before you enrol. We can very often make it work, but only if we know. Bring us the details, whether that’s an IEP, a diagnosis, a plan that works at school, or simply what you’ve learned as their parent.

First-aid qualified and RECE-led

Our guides hold current first aid certification, so the person with your child knows what to do in an emergency. Hexagon is led by Registered Early Childhood Educators.

Vulnerable Sector Check

Every member of our team completes a Vulnerable Sector Check before working with our kids.

Nut-free facility

No nuts on site, for anyone. Tell us about any allergy when you register and we plan the day around it. If your child needs medication during the day — an inhaler, an EpiPen, anything prescribed — tell us at registration; the authorization form is in your registration package.

Every child is different

If your child needs extra support, tell us before you enrol. Bring us the details, whether that is an IEP, a diagnosis, or simply what you have learned as their parent. We can very often make it work, but only if we know.

Hexagon is a hands-on enrichment program for kids aged 6–12. Through After School Programming, PA Day Adventures and Camp Experiences, kids spend their time making, moving and meeting.

We don’t believe kids need more time simply being kept busy. They need opportunities to MAKE, MOVE and MEET. Every Hexagon experience is designed to spark curiosity, build confidence and give kids something meaningful to do, discover or create.

Hexagon programming is designed by educators who understand how kids learn best: through doing, questioning, creating, moving and working with others. Every experience has a purpose behind it.

No. Hexagon is an enrichment program. Your child is supervised the whole time by first-aid qualified, Vulnerable Sector Checked guides, but the hours are planned around hands-on projects, movement and outdoor exploration rather than filling time.

It depends on the day. Kids might build something, experiment with a new idea, cook, create art, play games, head outside, solve a challenge, work on a project or explore something they are curious about. No two days need to feel the same, because they have a choice from a menu of activities across make, move and meet.

Ages 6 to 12 are together. Older kids get opportunities to lead, younger kids get opportunities to grow, and activities are designed so everyone has something to contribute and something to learn.

Both. We provide a thoughtfully planned rhythm for the day while leaving room for choice, creativity and conversation. Kids know what’s coming next, but there is still space to follow an idea or take an experience in a new direction.

We understand homework matters, and that weeknights are already full. Hexagon isn’t set up as a second classroom at the end of the school day, so we don’t build the afternoon around assigned work.

What we do build in is the skills underneath it. Our Refuel block covers literacy and numeracy through games, puzzles and reading, so the gaps get filled at an hour when a child can still use them.

Absolutely. Movement and outdoor exploration are an important part of the Hexagon experience. Whenever possible, we take learning beyond the studio and into the neighbourhood.

That’s completely normal. Our guides focus on creating a welcoming environment where kids can take their time, find their people and discover something that interests them. We want every kid to feel like they belong at Hexagon.

We don’t wait for perfect weather to go outside. We embrace what the day brings.

Rain means puddles, muddy adventures, and experiencing the outdoors a little differently.

If the public school boards close for weather, we close too. We’ll email you as early as we can.

Families receive important program information through email before their child’s experience, along with updates and reminders when needed. We want parents to feel informed without being overwhelmed.

After School Programming runs 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM on scheduled school days. There are two tracks, Mon / Wed / Fri or Tue / Thu, and each child is registered on one of them.

PA Day Adventures run 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM.

Camp Experiences run 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
Extended hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM are $50 a week.

Hexagon is a drop-off and pick-up program. Families drop their child off at 36 Broadlands Blvd and take them home at the end of the day. We’re close to Broadlands Public School (TDSB), St. Catherine Catholic School (TCDSB), Cassandra Public School (TDSB), Three Valleys Public School (TDSB), Norman Ingram Public School (TDSB) and St. Bonaventure Catholic School (TCDSB), and an easy drive from across Don Mills, North York, East York, Leaside, Victoria Village, Parkwoods and the wider Toronto area.

After School kids stay on site for the whole afternoon.
On PA Days we head out into the neighbourhood on foot, whether that’s the park, the library, or places within walking distance.
On camp weeks we sometimes travel further by TTC. You’ll know the plan ahead of time, and we ask for your written consent before your child goes off site.

Tell us at registration who else is authorized to pick your child up, and let us know ahead of time if someone different is coming on a given day.

Please send a nut-free snack from home for After School.

For PA Days and camp weeks, please pack a nut-free lunch and a few snacks to keep them fueled, happy, and ready for whatever the day brings.

We have a fridge and microwave available for every program, so you’re welcome to send food that needs to be kept cold or warmed up.

That depends on the program and the day’s activities. We recommend comfortable clothing, a refillable water bottle, weather-appropriate clothing and indoor shoes. Because we go out in most weather, a waterproof layer and boots are worth keeping in their bag. Specific packing details are provided before each program.

Hexagon is a nut-free facility. Let us know about any allergies at registration so we can plan accordingly.

Just let us know. A message or a call before the start of the day is all we need.

After School Programming is month to month. Give us at least two weeks’ notice before the end of your current month, and we’ll save your spot for a future month that works with your schedule.

If something unexpected comes up, reach out. We’ll always do our best to work with you.

It works the other way too. If we ever have to cancel, you get at least 7 days’ notice and your choice of a full refund or a move to another date.

Three terms a year: September to December, January to March, and April to June. Your child stays on one track for a full term so the group stays together.

Want to change tracks? Tell us any time and we’ll move them at the start of the next term.

$375 a month on Mon / Wed / Fri, or $275 on Tue / Thu, plus HST.
The season runs from September 8, 2026 to June 18, 2027.

Your monthly fee stays the same throughout the season, including months with school breaks. You’re paying for your child’s place in the program, not for individual days attended.

Yes. After School runs on scheduled school days only, so it doesn’t run when school is closed for a PA Day.

Want to join us that day? PA Day Adventures are available separately at $65 for families enrolled in After School Programming for at least one month, and $75 otherwise.

If you’re looking for more days across the year, PA Day Adventures and Camp Experiences run whenever school is closed.

Not partway through. Every child keeps their track for the full term, so the group stays the same for everyone in it, not just for your child.
